My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coquito! Coquito may not be able to see, but that doesn't stop him from living life to the fullest! This confident little terrier mix quickly learns his surroundings and navigates around his foster home like a pro. Once he's got the layout down, you'd never guess that he's visually impaired. He's incredibly affectionate and has a calm, trusting nature that makes everyone who meets him fall in love instantly. He follows his nose, listens closely, and always finds his way to the coziest spots (especially if there's humans around to receive scratches and cuddles from.) If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who proves every day that being blind doesn't hold him back, Coquito might just be your perfect match.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
