Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Micah! Micah is a 5-year-old Lab mix weighing around 63 pounds with a sweet, gentle, and loving personality. While she may take a brief moment to get to know new people, she is generally friendly and warms up quickly. Once comfortable, Micah’s affectionate nature shines, and she enjoys building strong bonds with her people. She is a quirky and playful girl who can`t get enough of her tennis ball and is always ready to play!
Micah does well with most dogs and may enjoy having a canine companion, provided it’s a good fit. Her playful and friendly demeanor makes her a wonderful choice for a family looking for a loyal and loving dog. Micah would do best in a home with older children ages 13 and up who can interact respectfully and help provide a stable, calm environment.
Micah has been with us for nearly 1,000 days while awaiting the resolution of a cruelty investigation, and through it all she has remained a loving, trusting dog who is more than ready for a fresh start in a forever home.
If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion who has waited far too long for her chance, Micah may be the perfect fit. Call 330-487-0333 ext. 803 or stop in today to meet this gorgeous girl!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
