My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Espresso is an adorable little boy with a big voice and an even bigger love for attention. If he feels you aren’t giving him enough, he has no problem standing in front of you and announcing it with his signature dramatic meow. He’s just as vocal when he’s hungry, making sure his needs are known loud and clear.

Despite his boldness, Espresso is incredibly sweet and melts the moment you start petting him. He adores his siblings and can usually be found playing, wrestling, or chasing after them during his busy kitten
adventures. When it’s time to rest, he’s never far from at least one of them, happily snuggled into a warm pile. Curious, affectionate, and full of personality, Espresso will bring endless joy and entertainment to a lucky forever family.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
