My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Rubyn! Named after his mom, Ruby, this 12-week-old kitten is full of adventure and play. He’s a confident kitty who loves to explore and is very curious. He can often be found scampering as fast as he can from toy to toy. His favourite is trying to catch the laser light!

Rubyn is a purr machine. He starts to purr as soon as you’re near and enjoys cuddles, especially when first
waking up. He will happily rub up against you when you’re chilling on the couch and likes to groom your hair. Rubyn has a great temperament that is a nice mix of playfulness, adventure, and snuggles.

Must adopt as a buddy to another cat.

1.
Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
