My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Greta is with our partner rescue in Louisiana and will be arriving to NJ on 1/10/2026.

Greta is about six months old and is ready for a fresh start with a family of her own. She and her brother Greg were part of a group of puppies and adult dogs who were being sold online before they were ultimately dumped and brought to a shelter. Despite her rough beginning, Greta is a gentle and promising young dog with so much potential.

Greta appears to have more Chihuahua traits than her brother, including a shorter, less dense coat. She is on the timid side and takes a little time to feel comfortable, but she is very smart and observant. With patience and kindness, she quickly begins to understand routines and expectations.

She would do best in a home with another confident dog who can help show her the ropes, though she is capable of learning on her own with steady guidance. Greta is looking for a calm, supportive home where she can continue building confidence and learning what it means to feel safe.

If you are willing to give her the time she needs, Greta will reward you with quiet loyalty and a growing bond that is truly special.

Greta is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  Greta has been spayed/neutered and has a microchip. His/Her adoption fee is $550.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
