Chai is a stunning 9-month-old German Shepherd weighing about 55 lbs. Her story began when she and her mom were found abandoned and brought to animal control. Thankfully, we rescued them both, and now that her mom has found a loving home, it’s Chai’s turn to shine!
Chai is a gentle soul with a sweet disposition. She can be a little hesitant at first, but once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature shines through. She’s done wonderfully with our volunteers and gets along well with other dogs.
As a young shepherd, Chai is intelligent and eager to learn, so she’ll thrive in a home with experienced German Shepherd adopters who understand her breed’s needs for structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. She’s ready to bond deeply with her person and become the devoted companion shepherd lovers dream of.
She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. We noticed that she sometimes limps so she received x-rays and a consultation with an orthopedic specialist. Chai has elbow dysplasia in her leg but the specialist did not recommend surgical intervention. At this time he recommended putting her on joint supplements and supporting Chai with pain meds on the days the joint may bother her.
She would need to meet any resident dogs.
