My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tallulah, a distinguished little lady with a stunning black-and-white coat and all the grace of a seasoned companion. As an older Chihuahua mix, Tallulah has moved past the frantic puppy years and is looking for a retirement home where she can be treated like the queen she is. She is a gentle soul who appreciates the finer things in life: a warm sunbeam, a plush blanket, and a loyal human by her side. Tallulah may be small, but she has a big heart and a calm, comforting presence that only a senior dog can provide. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, high-affection best friend to spend quiet evenings with, Tallulah is ready to fill your home with love and classic Chihuahua charm.

Come meet her at the Cove Lifesaving Center or put in a no obligation application by selecting apply for adoption and our counselors will reach out soon!

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
