Oreo is a sweet, gentle boy who is so ready for a fresh start. He came to UPAWS after his owner made a very difficult but caring decision when they could no longer give him the support he needed. Oreo arrived needing a little extra love, and now he’s safe, comfortable, and being well cared for.
Oreo is an affectionate dog who enjoys being close to his people. He seeks comfort, likes reassurance, and happily leans in for attention. New situations can feel a bit overwhelming for him at first, but with calm voices and gentle guidance, he settles in and shows his loving nature.
Mealtime is something Oreo takes very seriously right now — he’s eager, enthusiastic, and clearly happy to know food is coming regularly. With time and a steady routine, this will only get easier for him as he learns he’s secure and cared for.
Around other dogs, Oreo is polite and curious but prefers calm, respectful interactions. He does best when he can take things at his own pace and look to his person for reassurance.
Oreo is the kind of dog who will thrive in a patient, loving home — one that understands that kindness and consistency go a long way. He has so much love to give and is ready to share it with someone who will give him the gentle life he deserves.

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.
We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.
UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
