Dixie is a super cute, fun, and quirky French Bulldog who is just a little over a year old. She has a big personality packed into a small, squishy body and loves making people smile. Dixie has lived in a home with other dogs, cats, and kids, and she gets along wonderfully with everyone—she’s truly a social little lady.
Dixie is a sweet girl who enjoys going for walks to explore the world and is just as happy curling up for cuddles afterward. She loves being close to her people and thrives on attention and affection.
Because Dixie is a French Bulldog, it’s important to understand that this breed comes with specific care needs. Frenchies can be a high-maintenance breed, requiring attentive care for things like breathing, skin folds, temperature sensitivity, and overall health. While Dixie is mostly potty trained, she will occasionally use pee pads in the house. She can be a little princess and sometimes prefers her pads to going outside. Her amazing foster family has been working with her! For these reasons, priority will be given to a family with French Bulldog or similar breed experience, as well as a family who has the patience, time, commitment, and financial means to properly care for her.
We expect to receive many applications for Dixie. All applications must be fully completed and are first reviewed by our board. We also conduct vet checks and personal reference checks as part of our adoption process. With the holidays approaching, it may take us a bit longer to sort through applications, so we kindly ask for your patience. We will reach out if your application is selected to move forward.
Dixie is an adorable, loving companion who will make a wonderful addition to the right home—one that understands her breed and is ready to give her the care and love she deserves. 🐾💗

A home check may be performed when taking the pet home. This is up to the discretion of the rescue founder and may be performed upon her decision. This step will ensure our animals are going into the best possible homes and will never be treated as less than a best friend and companion ever again. We are dedicated to the best possible fit for each animal that comes into our care.

We are 100% foster and volunteer run. Therefore, the first step in meeting one of our adoptable pets will be to submit an adoption application by following the link posted above to either our website or directly to our adoption application. Once an adoption application has been approved, we can set up a meet and greet with the applicant and the animal the applicant is interested in. Please allow 24-72 business hours to receive an answer back about your application, as all of our volunteers and fosters have additional jobs outside of the rescue and use their spare time to provide care to these animals in our program.
Adoption events can also be found posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages located under the name "Happy Tails Canine Rescue". These events are open to the public and do not require an adoption application in advance to meet any of our pets that will be attending.
