Freddie Weasley came to Santa Barbara County Animal Services in Santa Maria as a neglected stray, his tiny coat tangled with mats and burrs. No one came to claim him, and we welcomed this sweet senior as a Frosted Face.
At 10 years old and just under 10 pounds, Freddie may be small, but he has a big heart. He is currently enjoying an extended Frosted Fling in a loving foster home, where he’s receiving all the care and affection he deserves. His foster mom describes him as a gentle, devoted companion with wonderful house manners. When he first arrived, his little legs were weak, but with good nutrition, daily walks, and lots of encouragement, Freddie has grown stronger every day. He’s even learning to climb the stairs! Now he takes them with a proud determination — a little pep in his step that makes it clear that he's proud of his accomplishment.
Freddie is hearing impaired, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit! He happily responds to hand signals and loves engaging with his foster mom. One of his favorite games is racing down the hallway together - first she chases him, then he spins around to chase her.
Freddie also enjoys bath time. Once he’s dried off, he zooms around the house like a puppy, full of beans and energy. He is absolutely adorable, from the way he tilts his head, acts delightfully silly, and then melts into cuddles like the sweet little boy he is.
Freddie is proof that it’s never too late for a second chance, and that with kindness and care, a senior pup can rediscover his sparkle.
