Mochi came to us from Los Angeles Animal Services- East Valley on February 6th after being surrendered by his owners. He is 13 years old and weighs 12 lbs.
Mochi is a sweet, charming dog who’s looking for his forever family! When he first arrived at FFF, Mochi was a little nervous and shaky, but he’s blossomed with the help of a two-week Frosted Fling with a wonderful volunteer. He’s had a great time decompressing, and now he’s getting used to the comfy luxury of sleeping in a human bed. He is ready to settle into a loving home and live the good life!
Mochi has made fantastic progress in his house training—he no longer has accidents inside and does all his business outside, either in the yard or during walks. He LOVES going for walks, though he does pull a little on the leash, which will get better with more training.
Mochi’s new confidence means he’s found his voice and barks to let you know when he’s protecting his home. But don’t be fooled by his bravado—he’s a bit of a softie at heart! His first trip to Fiesta Island revealed that he’s not too brave to ask for “uppies” when he feels unsure.
At times, Mochi was a bit snarky with his fling sister when it came to sharing cuddles or food. He is a fast learner, and his behavior improved during the fling, but it would still be best for him to eat separately at mealtimes. Mochi also had a blast with a friend’s dogs recently, sharing treats like a pro and enjoying his first bully stick!
Though Mochi is still a little nervous about car rides right now (he jumps around and whines a bit), he’s improving every time, especially when he gets to the fun part—being able to jump out of the car and go for a walk! Mochi had a wonderful time at Del Mar Dog Beach, where he loved meeting little dogs and was a bit hesitant around bigger ones, but he kept moving and having fun. Afterwards, he enjoyed basking in the sun for a well-deserved nap.
Mochi is looking for a forever home where he can get plenty of walks, love, and attention. He’s ready to be your loyal companion and join you in all the adventures life has to offer!
If you’re looking for a dog who’s sweet, loving, and ready to share your bed, Mochi might just be the perfect match!
Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet him.
