My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sugar is a 3.5-year-old spayed female American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a sleek black coat, a beautiful smile, and a personality that’s just as sweet as her name. This social girl absolutely loves being around people and thrives on attention—if you’re nearby, Sugar wants to be part of the fun!

She enjoys going on walks and has a playful side that keeps life entertaining. Sugar can be a bit talkative, so she’d do best in a house with a fenced-in backyard where she can stretch her legs, play, and express herself comfortably. She seems to be dog-friendly, but a meet and greet is required to make sure everyone gets along.

Food is definitely the way to Sugar’s heart—treats and snacks make her very happy and are a great way to bond with her. With her friendly, outgoing nature and love for people, Sugar would make a wonderful companion for an active, loving home.

If you’re looking for a playful, people-loving pup with a big smile and an even bigger heart, Sugar might just be your perfect match!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
