My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes:
Pigeon is a handsome one-year-old silvery gentleman with an adorable serious expression and the fluffiest cheeks you've ever seen! This petite boy was left behind with two dogs in an empty apartment, but he hasn't let his past dim his sweet, social spirit.
Curious and outgoing, Pigeon is never one to hide away. He's always ready to greet visitors at his kennel door, eager to make a connection. While he enjoys treats, what Pigeon really craves is human interaction-he'll charm you with enthusiastic head bunts, happy biscuit-making, and contented purring as he leans into pets on his kennel floor. Despite being confined, this easygoing boy shows no signs of frustration and is genuinely delighted every time someone stops by to say hello.
So why is this wonderful young cat still waiting? Pigeon's kennel is located up high, making him easy to miss-and that's truly a shame because he's an absolute gem!
When you visit the care center, ask to meet the young, friendly, silvery cat with the cute face and welcoming personality. His name is Pigeon, and we promise you'll fall in love. Take him home and discover what a special companion he truly is!

Upon approach Pigeon is laying in his top cubby, body and eyes relaxed. As the kennel door is opened, Pigeon exits the cubby and walks to the front of the kennel, greeting the assessor by leaning his body against and head bunting their hands. He allows and leans into all petting, flopping over to lay on his side and making air biscuits as he is pet. When pickup is attempted, he squirms to avoid it. He is able to be lifted and briefly held but squirms to be put back down. When placed back into his kennel he walks to the back of the kennel for a few seconds, recovering quickly and returning to the front of the kennel to solicit further attention by head bunting and continuing to lean in for all petting.

Pigeon interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
