My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Hi! I am a kind and happy cat who loves cuddling and gentle play. I'm middle-aged so I don't have the energy of a young kitty, but I'm very well-behaved, calm, and affectionate. I am quite curious about new people and new environments but I'm not destructive, and I don't have an aggressive personality.
I am quite independent during the day, but will come to you to cozy up at night (I'll reach out around your neck with my paws for cuddles, and let you hug me for hours). I'm always up and ready for playtime in the morning too (I love my toy mice and feather fishing-rod). I am very tidy, potty-trained, and groom myself frequently.
I have never lived with other animals or children, so I may not be suited for those kinds of environments.
If you want a well-trained cat with a gentle demeanor, a loving and trusting personality, and big, beautiful eyes, I'm your man!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I am a shy, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!

I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

A volunteer writes: With a hopeful kitty smile, Mandarin made his way over to the front where he nuzzled the door and lowered his head to sweetly headbutt my hand. Mandarin doesn't ask for so much but watching him try so hard to get something small kind of breaks my heart. Mandarin has been with us before, though through no fault of his own, and he knows very well that he might have to work a little bit harder to stand out in a sea of bright and sparkly kittens and standing right at the front of his condo, that's exactly what Mandarin's been trying to do. He's a soft and cuddly boy who just needs another chance.
