My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

"King may hide in fear, but he's a lover at heart." That's what this handsome boy's previous person told us when they had to relinquish him to the Care Center because they became homeless. Since he's been with us, King has mostly been shut down, not understanding why he's in this strange new environment away from the family that loved him. King isn't talking, but luckily his former owner gave us more information about what an awesome guy he is--an affectionate and chatty lap cat who loves to sit with his person on the couch. Litterbox trained and with a medium energy level, King also enjoys playtime, especially hide and seek and pouncing on toys. Food is at the top of his list as well, and he loves to be picked up and have his gorgeous fur brushed. Our hearts break for King, and we're hoping hard that potential adopters give him a chance to show off all his true amazing qualities. Want to lend a hand to a cat who could really use one? Considering making King your newest family member.

King is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because his previous owner reports he is affectionate lap cat in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, home with adopters who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help him adjust to their new home.
