My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Courtesy post for owner: Meet Rosie
Certified taste tester. Professional crumb connoisseur. Full-time love bug.

1.5 year old Rosie is a big, beautiful, squishy-faced girl who wins hearts wherever she goes. We adopted her over the summer from Baltimore County Animal Services, and she has been an absolute joy with people—goofy, affectionate, confident, and always ready for her next adventure or cuddle session.

At about 78 lbs, Rosie is athletic and happy-go-lucky. She loves walks, hikes, fetch, car rides, antlers, ice cubes, belly rubs, naps, and especially keeping a close eye on anything that comes out of the kitchen. She’s food-motivated, knows her basic commands, walks well on leash, and has been crushing her obedience class.

Rosie is:

  • Spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated

  • Heartworm negative

  • Fully housetrained

  • Crate-trained & leash-trained

She would thrive in a home with people to love, space to move, and a couch to snuggle on. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, our current dogs have not warmed up to her. Rosie doesn’t always pick up on other dogs’ “back off” signals and can be a bit too enthusiastic, which has led to conflict in our home. Because of this, she would likely do best as an only pet or possibly with very experienced dog owners who can manage slow, structured introductions.

We believe Rosie would be happiest in a home with no other pets and older or teenage kids, as she has big, wiggly energy and a lot of enthusiasm for life. We’re unsure about cats.

We are heartbroken that we can’t keep her, but returning her to the shelter is not an option we’re willing to consider. Rosie deserves a loving home where she can truly shine—and we are committed to keeping her safe and loved until that home is found.

Her adoption fee simply covers the supplies she’ll bring with her (kennel, leash, harness, toys, bowls, jackets, etc.).

If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy, couch-snuggle champion, and kitchen supervisor, Rosie might just be your girl

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
