My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet lil Millie cannot wait to find her new home and be spoiled endlessly as she deserves!

Millie is a shy girl, but very sweet and loves to snuggle. She is very playful and is sure to keep you entertained with her antics. She would likely benefit from a feline friend in the home to help build her confidence and provide companionship. Millie is very curious and loves to explore her surroundings so she can find the best spot to play or have a nap. Climbing cat trees is her favorite activity, she's very agile and makes it look easy!

If you're interested in this sweet girl, send us an application or come down to the Comox Valley branch to meet her! We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 12-4pm.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
