My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Yahtzee, a six‑year‑old pitbull with a heart as solid as his chew toys. Found as a stray, his past is a bit of a mystery, but he's ready to roll the dice on a new beginning. Yahtzee is an affectionate, confident, people‑oriented dog who lights up for companionship. He's smart, eager to connect, and happiest when he's included in the daily rhythm of life.

Yahtzee loves his toys... a lot! So he would be best suited to an adopter who enjoys providing structure, sturdy activities, and interactive play that will help him channel his energy into all the right moves. He would do best in a home that understands the value of routine, enrichment, and meaningful activity.
Since Yahtzee was found as a stray, we are unsure as to how he would do with another canine companion or a feline friend, so adopters would have to be prepared for slow and controlled introductions to any new furry friends!

Due to Yahtzee's size and bouts of excitability, he would be best suited in a home with no young children but may do well with dog savvy children who understand that he's a large, gentle guy who may not know his own strength at times! Pitbulls are strong, loyal, affectionate, and deeply connected companions who tend to bond deeply with their people. Yahtzee would do best with guardians with breed experience who are prepared to meet his physical and mental needs.

At six, Yahtzee is beginning to show some age‑typical mild hip soreness, nothing unusual for a dog of his size, but he'll benefit from someone committed to keeping him comfortable and supported as he matures. A thoughtful exercise routine, a cozy place to rest, and regular check‑ins with a veterinarian will go a long way in helping him stay active and happy. In return, he offers loyalty, affection, and a quiet kind of companionship that feels like a winning hand every single day.
