My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't let his name fool you, Scar is certainly not a tough guy, but a tender-hearted cat whose shy nature makes him most comfortable in a quiet, predictable home where he can take his time to feel safe. Scar came to the SPCA when his previous guardian sadly became too ill to care for him and the other cat in the home. It's been quite a shock to find himself in an unfamiliar surrounding but Scar is starting to adjust and letting his purrs and sweet personality come out. He definitely enjoys pets and leans in for the loving reassurance of a cheek scratch. Scars somewhat timid temperament means he needs a bit of extra support and time to adjust to a new environment. He would likely do best in a calm, quiet home without children running around. A patient, loving hand will help him relax and make his new home his own. With kindness, Scar has lived with another cat before so with proper, slow introductions there may be the possibility of him living with a new furry friend. In the right home Scar will certainly be a wonderful, loving companion. Could you be the one to make his dream of a fur-ever home true?
*SCAR IS AWAITING A POTENTIAL DENTAL SURGERY SO ISN'T ABLE TO OFFICIALLY BE ADOPTED JUST YET, HOWEVER LOCAL ADOPTERS MAY HAVE THE OPTION TO FOSTER TO ADOPT UNTIL HIS CARE IS COMPLETE.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
