She is a petite girl around 50 lbs. and will probably be on the smaller size when she is full grown - maybe 60 lbs. She is laid back andcalm. Misty showed up at a man's place of work and he began feeding her. She was very nervous at first but came to trust the kind man. Fast forward a few weeks later and the older stray dogs would bully Misty to get her food so the man reached out to rescue to help her. Misty has a wonderful disposition and temperament. She is calmand loves following you around wherever you go. She is the true definition of 'velcro dog.' Misty loves playing with other dogs and truly lights up when she sees them and wants to run and play. Misty encountered many cats when she was with the man who found her and Misty even let them eat out of her food bowl. Misty just likes to get along with everyone, no drama for this girl, she will just walk away. Misty would really love a male companion dog of her size or larger. She is OK with small dogs but really wants a large dog companion. Misty can be a little shy around new people, but warms up quickly. She is extremely smart and learns fast. She knows her basic obedience training but honestly, she is justso easy going. She walks terrific on leash and enjoys sniffing and making friends on her walks. Since Misty is a bit shy, we would not recommend her with a family with children under 16. Misty didn't know how to play with toys or chew on bones when we got her. To her ultimate enjoyment she loves both now. She is very affectionate and craves being petand loved on. Misty can be a bit of an adventurer and can climb most fences so she will need a secure fenced in yard. She doesn't want to run away but is very curious so she cannot be left outside unsupervised. And in true German shepherd fashion, she would like an experienced owner that can continue her training and guide her through her adultyears. Misty is spayed, up to date on vaccines, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate and leash trained. She would love a gentle playful male companion dog and needs a very secure fenced in yard. More about this rescue
Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
