My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Benny!

Benny is a 6-month-old Yorkie and Shih Tzu mix weighing just 6 pounds, and he’s packed with charm in a tiny package. He came into rescue when his previous owner realized they didn’t have the time needed for a puppy. When Benny arrived, he was matted and overgrown and needed to be shaved down—but with a little care and love, his sweet personality quickly shined through.

This little guy is a total people-lover and enjoys being close to his humans. Benny is affectionate, loves attention, and is happiest when he’s with his people. He enjoys playing with toys and has done well with other dogs that are tolerant of typical puppy energy. He has also shown no issues with cats.

Benny is still learning the ropes of puppy life. He’s working on his leash manners and had a few accidents when he first arrived in his foster home, but he’s catching on quickly and responding well to a consistent routine. He is crate trained and does well with structure. As a grooming-required breed mix, Benny will need regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best.

Because of his petite size, Benny would likely do best with dog-savvy children who understand how to be gentle and respectful. He’s still very much a puppy and will need an active family ready to keep up with his playful antics, continue his training, and provide guidance as he grows. Benny does not like being tethered and isn’t shy about voicing his opinion on the matter!

If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a big heart who’s ready to be loved, spoiled, and included in all of life’s moments, Benny may be the perfect addition to your family.

Benny is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Neutered

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
