Meet Little Girl!
Little Girl is one of those dogs you meet and immediately feel how much love she has to give.
She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. Mornings are her happiest time, and she wakes up full of joy, cuddles, and excitement. She loves being near her people and will happily follow you from room to room. Right now, she shows some separation anxiety, which makes sense given the recent transition into a new home. With consistency and reassurance, she’s already settling in.
She’s smart. Truly. Little Girl has strong survival instincts and problem-solving skills. She can open gates and navigate situations that many dogs wouldn’t even attempt. That intelligence will make her an amazing companion, but it also means she’ll do best with an adopter who enjoys engaging with a dog mentally and continuing her training.
She’s also a beautiful dog: long, lean, expressive, and striking in a quiet, understated way.
The practical stuff:
Leash & city life:
Little Girl is brand new to leashes and urban environments. She has leash anxiety and is still getting comfortable with city noises, stairs, and busy sidewalks. She seems like a country dog at heart who may not have spent much time indoors before. She’s learning fast, but she needs patience, reassurance, and gentle, consistent exposure.
Kids & other dogs:
She has been nothing but loving and gentle with a 7-year-old child in the foster home. They bonded quickly, and it’s been beautiful to watch; she now follows her just as closely as she follows the grown-ups. She would do amazing in a household with older children who can play and cuddle, but also respect a dog’s space.
With other dogs, she’s playful and curious. She’s shown mild, non-menacing dominant tendencies with the resient dog and is currently a bit nervous around unfamiliar dogs on the street, but she’s approaching, sniffing, and learning.
Who she’s for:
Little Girl needs a home with:
In return, she will be an exceptional companion. She is loving, intuitive, gentle, and deeply connected to her people. Whoever adopts her is getting a dog with enormous heart and potential.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, spayed/netuered, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
