Meet Darla – A Petite Pit with a Big Heart

Darla is a one-year-old, petite pit bull mix weighing just 40 lbs, and she is the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet affection. She’s small in size but big on personality, and she’s always happy to be part of whatever her people are doing.

Darla loves to play, explore, and soak up attention. She’s affectionate without being overwhelming and enjoys both active time and cuddling once she’s gotten her energy out. She does well with other dogs and has shown herself to be kid friendly, making her a great option for a family looking for a fun, loving companion.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you/

Meet the Pet

For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet.

3.
Submit Application

After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application.

4.
Approve Application

After the application is submitted, we will review it and contact you if your application is chosen.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once your application is approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption process!

All that is needed for the adoption application is a

We are located at 1600 Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm.
We are closed Saturdays and Sundays (as well as holidays) but are available by appointment outside of our open hours.
