My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yukon is a big, goofy puppy with an even bigger heart. He spent much of his early life tethered, so now he's soaking up every chance he gets to be around people. Yukon absolutely loves human company and is happiest when he's included in daily activities and showered with attention.

This sweet, affectionate boy is still learning about the world and will thrive with guidance, patience, and positive reinforcement. With regular exercise, companionship, and a loving home, Yukon is ready to leave his past behind and grow into a loyal, joyful family member. If you're looking for a fun-loving pup who just wants to be by your side, Yukon could be your perfect match.

Yukon is available for foster to adopt - local to the South Okanagan area while he awaits his neuter procedure.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
