My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Ladson, SC
DOB: 08/16/2022

Meet Willow, a classic Velcro Dane looking for her forever couch. This gorgeous girl is happiest when she’s snuggled up close to her people, preferably taking a nap or keeping your legs warm while you watch TV. She’s got a gentle, loyal spirit and will make sure you always feel safe—she’ll give a polite bark when she hears something unusual or spots a stranger, just to let you know she’s on the job.

Willow is a bit of a couch potato at heart. A fenced yard is all she needs for a little exercise before she’s ready to settle in for more quality lounging time. She plays responsibly for her size, loves a good toy, and has a funny habit of prancing around with it like she’s showing off on a runway. She’s also a bit of a talker when the mood strikes, adding a touch of personality and conversation to your day.

She’s fully housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and even tolerates a crate—though she’ll make sure you know it’s not her favorite place before settling down. Willow can be a little wary of men at first (especially those wearing baseball hats), but with patience and gentle reassurance, she warms up beautifully.

Willow has been dog selective in her foster home—she’s done well with some, but not all. She’s been fine with the family’s nine-year-old child and ignores the chickens and ducks.

The perfect home for Willow is one where she can be part of the family’s daily life, following her people from room to room and getting all the cuddles she can handle. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will be your shadow and your snuggle buddy, Willow is ready to steal your heart (and your spot on the couch).

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
