Here's what the humans have to say about me:
With her lithe body and pointy ears, 7.5-month-old Nori sometimes looks more like a fox than a dog — and she’s just as clever, too. This young Lab mix came to us from Texas feeling very scared of the world. At first, she would hide in a corner and didn’t want anyone to touch her. Thanks to the love and patience of her foster home, Nori has made incredible progress and continues to blossom every day.
Nori is doing wonderfully with potty training, with only a couple of accidents, and she may even understand the purpose of the bells on the door — she rang them recently just to get attention! This smart girl can be outside without a leash and doesn’t wander off, preferring to stay close and quietly mind her own business.
While Nori doesn’t choose to go into her kennel on her own just yet, she settles in nicely once she’s inside and does perfectly fine. She’s still learning, and she’s taking it all in stride.
Dog lovers, rejoice! Nori absolutely adores other dogs and wants to be right in the middle of whatever they’re doing. She finds comfort in their presence and truly thrives with canine companions, making her an excellent candidate for a home with a friendly resident dog.
With people, Nori is a gentle and sensitive soul. She prefers calm, cozy humans and loves relaxing on the couch, where she’ll happily snuggle right in. She can still feel unsure when people are up and moving around, but with patience, consistency, and love, her confidence grows more every day.
Nori is a sweet, smart, and loving pup who’s looking for a patient home — ideally with another dog — where she can continue to feel safe and learn just how wonderful life can be.

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
