My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lunin!

This fella has had a rough go of it, and is hoping for a kind and patient home to offer him the security and stability that he's always craved!

Lunin here is a fun, playful and active young boy! He loves his toys, stuffies especially, and won't pass up a good game of tug with his people. He would benefit greatly from lots of toy games, and mental enrichment and chances to build a strong bond with his people!

This fella came from a home where food and attention wasn't always consistent, and had a unstable home environment. This has meant Lunin has become a bit of a resource guarder when it comes to food, and feels very insecure when he has it. He needs someone who can offer him a safe place where he knows he isn't going to go without, and help him feel that security he's gone without. He needs lots of love and positive reinforcement in his new home to help him become his very best self!

While Lunin has lived with other dogs, he's never had the chance to be his own guy, and really needs this in a new home. He seems to get a bit frustrated with others, and with his guarding habits, will be best as the only pet in a home.
His ideal home would be a dog savvy home with only adults, that is active and can meet his energy needs.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
