My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet TEDDY🐾 Breed: Labrador Retriever | Age: 2 years | Size: 76lb | Traits:
Teddy is an energetic two year old male Labrador who loves the outdoors and being close to his people. He thrives in a fenced yard where he can run, play fetch, and enjoy a good game of tug. Teddy is happiest when he has space to burn off energy and would benefit from continued leash training, as he pulls on leash and becomes distracted by wildlife. His recall needs work outside, but he is eager and food motivated.

Teddy is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, house trained, and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate at night, does well when crated while his family is away, and truly enjoys car rides. He is gentle when taking treats, has no food aggression, and loves special snacks like ice cubes and bananas.

Teddy is affectionate and loyal. He will follow you from room to room to make sure you arrive safely and happily curls up for cuddles whenever allowed, often thinking he is a lap dog. He is good with children and has lived with a toddler, though he may steal toys to initiate play.

Teddy does best as the only pet and is NOT suited for homes with dogs or cats. He is looking for an active, loving home where he can be your one and only.

More about this rescue

We mainly rescue dogs and cats from local Animal Shelters/Control when those facilities are overcrowded. Our adoptable cats are located in our H.O.P.E. Pet Adoption Center in the Wilton Mall and dogs are in individual foster homes.

We have educational programs for children and adults about choosing a pet and the responsibilities of pet ownership, and safety around animals.

We welcome volunteers for any of these programs or for our fundraising committee.
