Melvin is a gentle shepherd mix who was given a second chance when he was pulled from the euthanasia list, and he's ready to find a patient, understanding forever home. This sweet boy is shy when you first meet him – he needs time to feel safe and build trust. But once Melvin warms up to you, his true personality shines through, and you'll see he's full of life and love.

Melvin gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm household that can give him the space and time he needs to come out of his shell. Because of his shy nature, a home without young children would be ideal. He's looking for someone who understands that good things take time, and who's willing to be rewarded with the loyal, loving companion he'll become once he feels secure.

1.
Submit Application

• Current pets must be spayed/neutered, UTD on annual exams, heartworm tests, vaccines & consistent heartworm prevention.

Interview

We will have a volunteer call personal and vet references. We will interview applicant if all information provided is accurate.

3.
Home Check

We do in home visit checks or via video chat. Video Chat If adopter lives out of our area, if a volunteer Is unavailable.

Or we help arrange private (or volunteer) transport for your pet if adopter isn’t in our local area.

Additional adoption info

We are all volunteers, but we try to have all applications processed in 7 business days.. If you are approved, then we will send you an adoption contract and transport information. Payment must be made once contract is finalized.
We try to answer all inquiries. If you are interested in a pet the best way to meet that pet is FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Since we are all volunteers, applicants must be approved before a meet/greet.
