Dexter is an estimated 8–10-year-old, 13-pound brown and white parti Pomeranian with a calm, happy nature and the kind of easygoing personality that makes him a joy to have around. He was found running as a stray and was never reclaimed, but he has settled beautifully into rescue life and seems more than ready for a cozy forever home.
Dexter is outgoing, friendly, and genuinely sweet with everyone he meets. He walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and enjoys traveling. At home, he is quiet and content, happiest lounging nearby and soaking in the good life. He has that wonderful senior-dog confidence where very little rattles him and everything feels manageable.
When Dexter came into rescue, he tested heartworm positive, but he has since completed fast kill treatment and is fully cleared. He recently had an extensive dental and is feeling great. He is fully vetted, including a full exam, neuter, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing, and he is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Pom Squad Rescue is dedicated to the elimination of the euthanasia of healthy, treatable, and surrendered Pomeranians and other small dogs from shelters, owners, and veterinarian clinics. The rescue will ensure that appropriate veterinarian care including spay, neuter, microchip and general health screening is completed on all rescued dogs. Pom Squad Rescue is an all volunteer based rescue that relies on foster homes to house rescued pets while waiting for their adopted home. The rescue will maintain the care of all rescued dogs in the foster homes while evaluating the applications of potential adopters. Volunteers for the Pom Squad Rescue will conduct fund raising activities in order to support the care for the rescued animals.
