Caipirinha is a wiggly, friendly, and incredibly lovable 2-year-old girl who’s already stealing hearts at BARCS. This medium-sized sweetheart weighs about 48 pounds and walks nicely on leash, checking in with her person the whole time—clearly eager to connect and do the right thing.
Smart and eager to please, Caipirinha already knows sit and absolutely lights up with happy butt wiggles and enthusiastic tail wags when she hears “good job.” She soaks up praise and affection, and if you give her the chance, she’ll happily climb right into your lap for snuggles. She loves cuddles, baby talk, and quality time just as much as she enjoys her walks. She appears to be housetrained and is shaping up to be a wonderful companion. When meeting new people, Caipirinha can be a bit shy at first, so she’ll do best with someone who understands the importance of letting her warm up at her own pace.
Caipirinha truly shined at the Tails on Tap adoption event, calmly settling on her mat and greeting new people with gentle curiosity. Even in a busy environment, she remained polite, well-mannered, and focused on soaking up affection from her human friends. She happily accepted treats with soft manners, showed good behavior around other dogs, and clearly preferred spending her time connecting with people—leaning in for pets and sweetly pawing for more love.
Caipirinha recently enjoyed a slumber party with a volunteer, and it gave us a wonderful look at who she is in a home setting. She is 100% housebroken and an easy, quiet house guest—she was comfortable being left alone and caused no trouble at all. Caipirinha absolutely loves her crate and clearly sees it as a safe, cozy retreat. While she wasn’t locked in, she chose to rest there often, especially while settling in. Having an enclosed, quiet space in her future home will help her feel secure and confident.
On walks, Caipirinha is a totally different dog—happy, excited, and wagging her tail the entire time. She walks nicely on leash with minimal pulling. She may bark briefly when she sees other dogs, but she is easily redirected and eager to keep moving.
Caipirinha can be nervous with new people at first and prefers to warm up at her own pace. She may initially stay in her crate, but with a little patience, she allows gentle pets and will even come sit nearby. By the end of her stay, she was confidently exploring the house and snuggling on the couch—a huge and heartwarming milestone. Once comf
