My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mama Mia is as loving and special as her name suggests. She is an incredibly friendly and affectionate cat who truly enjoys human companionship. She loves snuggling up on the couch and being close to her people, often standing on her hind legs to gently reach out for affection in the sweetest way.

Mama Mia has been a wonderfully patient and devoted mother to her kittens and has a calm, gentle temperament. She is trustworthy around children and anyone she meets, and she would never hurt a fly. Mama Mia will make a beautiful companion for a family or individual looking for a truly kind-hearted cat.

While Mama Mia would be okay as a single kitty, she would also enjoy having a feline friend in her new home.

1.
Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
