Meet Heather — a 5 month old Alaskan Husky mix with a spirit as bright as her future. Heather’s story starts in a tough place. She came into the shelter as a stray, very underweight and found out in the cold and rain during the recent flooding. But despite everything she’s endured, this girl is the definition of resilient puppy joy. At just five months old, Heather is bursting with playful energy, curiosity, and that classic Husky spark. She’s already showing everyone here how quickly she bounces back with love, good food, and a safe place to land. Her tail wags nonstop, she greets every new friend with enthusiasm, and she’s discovering the world the way a puppy should — with wonder and excitement. Heather is more than ready to begin her next chapter. She’ll thrive with a family who can give her structure, affection, and plenty of adventures. In return, she’ll give you loyalty, laughter, and a lifetime of memories. If you’re looking for a brave, sweet, spirited pup to grow up with, Heather is waiting to meet you.

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.
How it works:
1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.
2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)
3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.
ADOPTION FEES - CATS
- Cats (over 6 months): $50 - $100
- Kittens (6 months and under): $150 - $300
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $250 - $300
Adoption Fees for cats and dogs include:
Spaying / neutering
Microchip
First set of vaccines
Deworming
Flea treatment
Martingale collar and slip lead for dogs
Collar and cardboard carrier for cats
SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS
- Adoption fees vary based on species

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
