My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A HANDSOME & FRIENDLY FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 38 lbs.

Hi, I’m Ryder!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me.  Now I hear that I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my very own – where I can love and be loved furever!  I hope to meet them very soon!  I came in heartworm positive, but I'll be treated for that soon and I hope to be with my new family before treatment starts.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a very sweet, friendly boy with a handsome face and a curious heart.  I like to “sweet talk” with my little grumbly vocalizations which are adorable, and while I was curious on the walk to the paw spa, bath time made me a bit nervous - but I did enjoy the face wash and was very brave for my ear cleaning.  All in all, I’m a gentle, loving guy who, like all dogs, wants love, kindness and reassurance. / Energy level: Approx. 5-7, possibly a little lower.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’ve been told that I walk nicely on my leash and I’m sure I can learn lots of commands – so let’s do some training together! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts though I did rub on it a bit with my nose and lost some fur, but it’s growing back in now. / I am having some accidents and doing some marking at the shelter, but thankfully I’ve just been neutered, so with training and time, I should learn.  Keep me on a good schedule with treat rewards outside when I potty to help with this.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love food and treats, spending time with people, and going for nice walks together.  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we will enjoy together in my new home. / Baths must be pretty new to me, because I was quite nervous about everything at first. But by the final rinse, I started to relax, and with a little time and patience, I know it’ll only get easier.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I lost a bit of fur on my nose from rubbing my crate but it’s growing back now.  Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in mid-February 2026 and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts.

I’m a sweet guy looking for a great home and family to cherish and live a good life with.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

More about this rescue

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
