My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Levi 🤎🐾

Levi is a 5-year-old pit mix with the sweetest face and an even sweeter soul. He came to us through our Humane Agent, arriving skinny and scared, but with time, care, and kindness, Levi has shown us just how loving he truly is.

This gentle boy absolutely adores affection and lights up when he’s getting attention. One of his favorite things? Getting dressed up! Levi loves wearing clothes and being doted on—it makes him feel safe, special, and loved. While he’s still working on gaining some weight, he would love nothing more than to continue that journey in a cozy forever home filled with good meals, soft beds, and endless love.

Levi is the kind of dog who will melt your heart with one look and stay there forever. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s ready to leave his hard days behind and start a new chapter, Levi is ready to be your boy. 💕🐶

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
