Lux is currently in a foster home - please reach out to schedule an appointment if you are interested in meeting him so we can coordinate with his foster (:
Lux is a sweet old man, whom unfortunately lost his home when his owner went to hospice. He was very stressed being in the shelter after having his own home for so long; so, he was placed in foster care to help him transition to a new home. He loves being with people and will often follow you around and sit comfortably on the floor, couch or blankets near you. Despite being older, he still is fairly spunky and likes to play. He loves squeaker toys (he likes to pull out the squeakers), hard chew toys and loves tennis balls. He loves to catch tennis balls midair when you throw them, but eventually he will play with the tennis ball and crunch them until they are no longer the correct shape and then look for another toy to play with! He is okay on the leash but can use a little more training and structure. He is potty trained, takes treats nicely and rides well in the car. He is not one that should be homed or near a cat - he unfortunately wants to treat them like toys. The ideal home for him would be one that doesn`t have other dogs that would make him share attention. He doesn`t like to share attention with other critters as he prefers to be the center of your world. Who could blame, that is what he is used to! You can take him out on walks, and he does well around other dogs for small interactions but likes to have his humans all to himself. He is a cuddler and loves petting. He loves his neck scratched and will show you his belly for lots of belly rubs. He is crated while his family is out of the house, but at night is free to roam the house and is well behaved. He does great with people of all ages and is always looking for a little love.
