My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Milo! Milo is a handsome 2 year-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing
about 85 pounds, and he's every bit the big, lovable Lab you'd expect.
Peppy, social, curious, and incredibly affectionate, Milo thrives on human
connection and wants nothing more than to be part of the action. In fact,
he's convinced he's a lap dog and will happily try to climb into your lap
for hugs-completely unaware of his size, which only adds to his charm. Milo
loves braided toys, a good game of tug-of-war, tasty treats, long walks, and
plenty of affection. He's crate trained (though he much prefers being out
with his people) and is fully potty trained. He does best when he's not left
alone for long stretches, making a home with a hybrid or work-from-home
schedule ideal for this very social boy. Because of his size and enthusiasm,
Milo would do best with older children and adults who can help guide him as
he continues learning polite manners. While he hasn't had extensive
experience around children, he's a sweet, people-loving dog who will benefit
from clear structure and positive reinforcement. Milo can thrive as the only
dog in the home or with a confident canine companion of similar size and
energy level who can match his playful style. He's curious and social and
continues to learn appropriate boundaries with guidance and consistency.
On walks, Milo is enthusiastic and eager to explore, which means leash
skills are still a work in progress. With consistent training and positive
reinforcement, he has great potential to improve. He's smart, doesn't
destroy belongings, and already has a solid foundation-he just needs someone
committed to continuing his training and helping him channel his energy in
positive ways. An active home, possibly with someone looking for a running
or adventure companion, would be an excellent match for him. Milo is current
on vaccinations and will be neutered in January. His adoption fee includes
the cost of his neuter. If you're ready to commit to a sweet, affectionate,
and loyal companion who will reward your time and patience with endless
love, Milo may be your perfect match. Contact us at adopt@carolinapaws.com

More about this rescue

Carolina P.A.W.S. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization comprised of a network of compassionate Carolinians, all of whom are volunteers. We are devoted to helping abandoned and abused cats and dogs throughout the greater Charlotte area find loving homes. CPAWS does not have a facility and relies entirely on volunteer foster parents to care for an animal until we are able to find a pet their forever home. Our founding members have been collectively involved in animal rescue for over 20 years.

Carolina P.A.W.S. volunteers can be found "in the trenches," rescuing animals at high risk- those starving on the streets, languishing in shelters, and suffering in abusive situations. Each animal has a different past but our promise to them all is the same…a second chance. We provide them with medical attention, rehabilitate them physically and emotionally, and care for them in foster homes until they can be placed in loving permanent homes.

Along the way, we prepare them to become wonderful companions by taking the time to socialize them and patiently teaching them to trust. We also spay/neuter each one, provide all inoculations, and ensure that they are in perfect health before being made available for adoption.
