My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Newt: A Unique Companion
Background
Newt is an 8-month-old, 8-pound mix of Italian Greyhound and Terrier. Rescued from a hoarding case, he has been given a new lease on life and is now looking for a loving home. Despite his challenging start, Neville's resilient spirit shines through.
Health and Care
Neville is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His health is well-maintained, ensuring he is ready for adoption.
Personality and Traits
Newt is a smart but shy pup. He is the brother to Neville and Xeno, and like them, he requires a bit of patience and understanding. Once trust is established, Newt becomes affectionate and is eager to learn new things. His intelligence is a testament to his Italian Greyhound and Terrier heritage, making him a quick learner and adaptable companion.
Special Considerations
Given his breed's characteristics, Newt has extremely fine bones, which means he should not be housed with young children who may inadvertently play too roughly. He thrives in environments where he can feel safe and secure.
Energy Level and Activity
With a medium energy level, Newt enjoys a balance of playtime and relaxation. While he may be shy initially, with patience and gentle encouragement, he reveals a playful and loving side.
Ideal Home
He would do best in a home without small children, where his shy nature can be nurtured with patience. His new family should be prepared to invest time in building trust and providing a stable, loving environment. Once settled, He's affectionate and playful nature will surely bring joy to his forever home.
In summary, He is a unique and endearing pup who, with a bit of patience and understanding, will become a cherished member of any family. If you are looking for a smart, affectionate companion and are willing to invest the time to build a trusting relationship, he might just be the perfect match for you.

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
