Meet Scrooge!

Scrooge is a very handsome, classic German Shepherd who is approximately 12 years old and weighs 71 pounds. He came to Canine Collective after his owner experienced financial hardship and is now searching for a committed, understanding forever home.

Scrooge has a sweet temperament and is still very much a puppy at heart. As a strong, young shepherd, he will thrive with continued training, structure, and regular exercise. With guidance and consistency, Scrooge has all the makings of a deeply loyal and devoted companion.

Scrooge prefers to be the only dog in the home, as he does not do well with other dogs. Hes looking for a shepherd-savvy home that understands large breeds and is ready to focus on building a strong bond with him one-on-one. In the right environment, Scrooge will shine as a playful, affectionate, and dedicated best friend.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.

Our mission is provide rescued dogs another chance to find their forever homes. We rescue from high kill shelters, hoarding situations, and from families in crisis.

We are a private, nonprofit, all breed, no-kill dog rescue.
