My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Forest is a sweet, playful dog that loves couch cuddles as much as playing fetch. He is crate trained and good with kids!

When meeting new people Forest can be a little shy but opens up within minutes. He does great with other dogs and has done great with the fosters homes children (10 and 14). He loves to play fetch and will bring the ball back over and over again. After play he loves to snuggle up on the couch beside you for a nap or have a good rest on the rug while chewing his bone.

He does great in his crate and hasn't had any accidents in the house while in foster's home. When being told the word potty he will get excited and wait at the door to be taken out. Forest does really well on leash, but he could use some more training on not pulling.

Forest is a great mix of playful and easy going and would be a great fit for many families.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
