Precious little Roman was found in a community cat colony in search of food in Harrisburg's inner city. Some of the other cats were making it difficult for him to eat. The colony caretaker became Roman's foster mom after discovering how sweet this little boy is. Roman likes to take naps on his foster mom's bed and get lots of pets! Roman loves wet food and gets along very well with his feline housemates. He can often be found loungin in a ray of sunshine.

Roman has been neutered, vaccinated against rabies and distemper, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV. Roman did test positive for FIV. However this is only contagious to other cats thru sexual contact or deep, bloody bite wounds. Becasue Roman is not a fighter, he can live safely in a home with other cats who are FIV negative.

We offer an online adoption application at www.castwaycritters.org. We do check references, vet references, and housechecks. Once you are approved, you will be required to fill out an adoption agreement. Our animals have all been wormed, altered and vaccinated. Cats have been tested for FIV/FeLV. All of our animals are in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting them. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit rescue group that takes in stray, abandoned, and sick animals, giving them medical and foster care until available for adoption. We offer low cost spay/neuter clinics to the public and a special program called Operation CatNIP for pet cats of low income qualified individuals and feral cats, and assist in TNR for cats.
