My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Flash and here is a bit more about me :

My Journey
I’m a young kitten who’s still learning that the world—and especially humans—can be a pretty wonderful place. I tend to be a bit cautious at first, but once I realize I’m safe, my sweet, affectionate side shines through. I just like to take things at my own pace.

My Social Life
Other cats ? I do best when I have a feline friend nearby, especially my sister. Having her with me helps me feel brave, secure, and confident.
Dogs?I haven’t met dogs yet, so slow and gentle introductions would be best.
Kids? With kind, respectful “mini humans,” I may do well as I continue to grow and gain confidence.

My Personality
Gentle, thoughtful, and quietly affectionate.
I may seem shy at first, but I’m a total softie once I trust you. I express my love with big purrs, snuggles, and calm companionship. I’m sensitive to my surroundings and appreciate patience, consistency, and kindness.

I Enjoy…
Rolling ball toys that I can bat around for ages
Playtime that helps build my confidence
Lounging in cozy, safe spaces
Snuggling with my sister or another friendly cat

I’m Not a Fan Of…
Being rushed or approached too quickly. I feel most comfortable when I’m allowed to come to you on my own terms.

What Makes Me Special
My gentle nature and deep bond with my sister make me extra special. Once I feel safe, I’m incredibly affectionate and loyal—and my loud purrs are my way of saying “thank you for being patient with me.”

My Perfect Home
I’m still a young kitten, so I’ll need to go home with another playful, friendly cat—ideally my sister, or to a home that already has a confident, kind kitty who can help me feel secure. A calm, patient home where I’m given time to adjust will help me grow into the loving companion I’m meant to be.

(My sister is Lillian if still available)

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
