My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Oreo Cookie and here is a bit more about me :

My Social Life
Other cats ? My favorite companion in the whole world is my brother. When he’s not nearby, I can get a little lonely and will call out for him—having him close makes me feel safe and happy.
Dogs ? Kids ? I haven’t met dogs or mini humans yet, so I’m still figuring out how I feel about them. With time, patience, and gentle introductions, I may be able to adjust, especially in a calm environment.

My Personality
Sweet, affectionate, and delightfully talkative.
I love attention and will happily let you know when I’m ready for affection—especially back scratches, which are one of my favorite things. Once I feel comfortable, my playful and curious side really shines.

I Enjoy…
Wand toys with strings and chasing balls
Exploring new spaces and discovering the best hiding spots
Sleeping curled up with my brother in bed
Wet food and Churu treats (absolute favorites!)

I’m Not a Fan Of…
Dry crunchies aren’t really my thing—I much prefer wet food. I appreciate a calm, familiar environment where I can settle in at my own pace.

What Makes Me Special
I have unique white markings on my inner legs and belly that make me extra special—and extra cute.

My Perfect Home
I get a burst of playful energy after meals and love to play once I feel safe and comfortable in my surroundings. My brother is my very best playmate, and I would thrive in a home where we can stay together or have a young other feline friend. A loving, patient home that enjoys both playtime and cozy cuddles would be just right for me.

Young kittens are adopted in pairs or to a home with another playful kitty.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
