Big Guy is a sweet, gentle 4-year-old male Shih Tzu weighing about 12 pounds who came into our care after his beloved owner passed away. Despite the big change in his life, he’s remained a friendly, affectionate little guy with a calm and loving nature.
He gets along well with other dogs and is a smart cookie, too—Big Guy knows basic commands like sit and down and loves to show off by standing on his back legs. He’s eager to please, easy to train, fully potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash. He even has a soft, polite bark.
Big Guy was recently neutered and is doing great. One important thing to know: he is sensitive about grooming and requires sedation for professional grooming, which should be handled through a veterinarian or an experienced groomer.
Overall, Big Guy is a well-mannered, affectionate companion who would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can be cherished again.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
