My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is a big, sweet boy and his favorite thing in the world is attention. He’s a total love bug with a soft, laid-back personality who just wants to be near his people.

Trooper came to Trash Cat already declawed by a previous owner (this is not something we would ever encourage). While in our care, he also received a dental where many of his teeth had to be removed, and he handled it like a champ.

Because of his gentle nature, Trooper would do well with other cats, children, and calm dogs. He’d also be perfectly happy as a solo cat in a home where he can get lots of love and attention. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion, Trooper would be a wonderful fit.

Trooper is estimated to be 5.5 years old. He is neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, and FIV/FeLV negative—and ready for his forever home!

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.
Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.
Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.
Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.
