My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bilberry is a sweet and handsome 9-week-old German Shepherd/Husky mix who is ready to find his forever home! Born in late November as part of a litter of 11, Bilberry and his brother Huckleberry are the last two still waiting for families of their own.

Now weighing just under 14 pounds, Bilberry clearly shows off both the German Shepherd and Husky traits in his looks. He’s doing wonderfully with socialization, showing a curious, friendly personality and all the charm you’d expect from a growing puppy.

If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion to grow up with your family, Bilberry might be your perfect match

Adopters should be prepared for training, socialization, and the commitment that comes with raising a puppy.

If you are interested in adopting Bilberry, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.

**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **

Additional adoption info

After you have found your new best friend, please read our adoption FAQ then submit our online adoption interest form at www.charlottespca.org/adopt

The Greater Charlotte SPCA does not own or operate a shelter facility. Volunteers foster all animals in their homes until adopted. Many of our animals come from high-kill shelters and other rescue situations. We find that fostering gives us the opportunity to assess the animal's personality and needs. This allows us to best match them with the right adoptive family. Also, we are able to provide all care and medical needs for our animals. It enables the animal to develop a happy frame of mind before adoption. We have many wonderful animals looking for a forever home.

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events every weekend around the Greater Charlotte area. Check our website www.charlottespca.org for upcoming event details. If you would like to meet a particular animal, please contact us so that we can arrange for the foster to bring the animal to the event.
