Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Skallywag’s journey has been a beautiful one to watch. What began as a quiet, unsure start has grown into a confident, loyal companion who truly enjoys being with his people. He seeks connection, stays close, and makes it clear that being part of a family is exactly where he wants to be.
Skallywag shows his affection in thoughtful, genuine ways—checking in with you, leaning in for pets, and happily settling nearby just to share space. He’s attentive, bonded, and eager to return the love he’s been given, making him the kind of dog who quickly feels like a best friend rather than “just a pet.”
He would thrive in a home that values companionship and consistency, where he can continue building on the confidence he’s already found. In return, Skallywag offers loyalty, presence, and a heart that’s fully invested in his people.

More about this shelter
Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society a 501c3 was formed to improve the problems of disease, overpopulation & abandonment of stray animals in Garvin County.
Our organization is made up of over 300 members who care about animals. It is an eclectic group varying in race, age, economic and professional levels and religious affiliations. We are, however, single-minded when confronting our community problems of animal cruelty and neglect, overpopulation and the humane treatment in which our strays and homeless dogs and cats are housed. Our goal is to relieve their suffering, do everything in our power to find them homes and provide a decent animal shelter for Garvin County.
