My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scout!

Scout is a fun-loving, high-energy 5-month-old pup who lost his home through no fault of his own and is ready to start his next adventure with you! At around 35 pounds already, this handsome guy is expected to grow into a large dog. With his classic hound good looks, Scout is likely a pointer mix, which means long legs, a curious nose, and lots of enthusiasm for life.

Scout loves being part of the action and does well with other dogs and kids. He enjoys car rides, is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained, and already knows sit, lay down, kennel (cage), and nopretty impressive for such a young pup!

Scout prefers not to be left alone for long periods and will do best with an active family who can keep him busy and engaged. Because of his energy level and future size, apartment living isnt the best fit. A yard, daily exercise, and plenty of sniffy walks will keep this happy hound smiling.

Scout is ready to grow up alongside a family who can match his playful spirit and love for adventure.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
