Meet James & Edward – a bonded brother duo looking for their forever home!
James and Edward are inseparable littermates who balance each other beautifully and are hoping to be adopted together. James is a sweet, sensitive soul who can be a bit shy at first and often looks to his confident brother Edward for reassurance. While James isn’t a fan of being picked up, he loves being part of the action and will happily entertain you with his playful antics. He has a special love for toys and can often be seen proudly trotting around with one in his mouth, making tiny “hunter” noises as if he’s on an important mission. With patience and love, James is sure to blossom into a truly stunning cat.
Edward, on the other hand, is an all-around happy, easygoing kitten. Playful, affectionate, and full of charm, he loves to wrestle with his siblings and then curl up for snuggles. Talk to him and he’ll happily meow back, melting hearts instantly. He’s the classic happy-go-lucky orange boy and would make a wonderful “beginner” kitten—especially paired with James, who benefits greatly from Edward’s confidence.
Both boys have grown up in a busy foster home with their mama, littermates, adult cats, a dog, and older children, and they do wonderfully with everyone. They would thrive in a loving home that offers plenty of room to play, understands James’s need for gentle respect, and is ready to welcome two sweet, playful brothers who truly belong together.
James and Edward are a perfect pair—double the fun, double the love, and lifelong best friends ready to join your family!

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
