Meet Miracle Max! This super handsome boy is one of four special kittens who have come a long way thanks to patience and dedication. Miracle Max and his brothers arrived at the shelter very unsocial, fearful, and intolerant of handling. After a couple of weeks of hard work from our staff, we began to see encouraging improvements—and off to foster they went!
The boys then spent several more weeks with a wonderful foster who specializes in kitten socialization. While they are still fearful and independent, some truly promising behaviors have emerged in the foster home. All of the kittens regularly come out to interact with people through play, though they remain nervous and will retreat from loud noises or fast movements. These boys will need very patient adopters, a home without small children, and plenty of time and gentle effort to grow into the confident cats they have the potential to be.
Miracle Max is the most social of the group. He accepts being picked up at times and doesn’t mind having his feet touched. Max is very energetic and known for stealing lickable paste or toys from the other kittens—he keeps everyone on their toes!
Max shares a strong bond with his brother Fezzik. Their similar energy levels and confidence-boosting sibling play are incredibly beneficial to their continued socialization, making their bond both crucial and rewarding. For this reason, they would do best being adopted together. If you work from home, enjoy a meaningful challenge, or want to give your time and heart to animals who truly need it, consider adopting Miracle Max and Fezzik. With patience and love, these boys offer a lifetime of growth—and the deeply rewarding experience of helping them become their best selves.
